PRISL elects Indhra Kaushal Rajapaksa as its president

The Plastics and Rubber Institute of Sri Lanka (PRISL) held its Annual General Meeting on 17th July 2020 at the institute's headquarters in Colombo.

Office Bearers and the Executive Council were elected during the general meeting. Indhra Kaushal Rajapaksa of Kalhar Industries was elected as the president of PRISL with R. A. L. Sampath Ramanayake of Ex Camso Loadstar and Kalyana Dhirasekera of Aqua Packaging as vice presidents.

 P. P. Perera of Sri Lanka Representative of PIN365 was elected as the Secretary and Prabath Jayasinghe of Gislaved Gummi as the Assistant Secretary of the institution. 


Owing to the existing health regulations this event was conducted both online and offline manner.                                                                                                               


In the welcome address, President Kuashal Rajapaksa observed the prominent representation of the dry rubber, latex, and plastics industry sector in the new committee, and stressed that this would add strength to the PRI Sri Lanka to face the challenges caused by current social economical political and environmental scenario both locally and globally.

The Covid-19 experience has opened up new awareness and opportunities which will be explored by the institute in its efforts to serve the members and the rubber and plastics industry fraternity in Sri Lanka.

PRISL is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year and a series of events will be planned to commemorate their historical achievement.
